There is nothing I love more than creating fun ways to eat CHEESE!!
There are so many options when it comes to planning a board. This was sent to me by a friend and I simply HAD to recreate it.
Ingredients:
1 brick brie
1 brick smoked gouda
1 brick sharp cheddar
4 slices jalapeno havarti
1 package hot Italian salami
8-10 Peppadews stuffed w/cream cheese
8-10 garlic stuffed olives
1 bunch grapes
*You can use ANY cheeses, meats & fillers to make your board, but these are the ingredients that I chose!
Making the board:
1. I first carved out the brie using a paring knife and various utensils to get the right size eyes, nose & mouth. (I used a small brie because it was a small party, but you can certainly use a Costco size brie to create a larger board!)
2. I cubed the sharp cheddar cheese (you can also buy them already cubed to save time) & cut the smoked gouda into narrow triangles. I cut 4 thin chunks of jalapeno havarti, 2 about 1.5 inches high and 2 about an inch high - just for visual effect for the neck. The rest was ready to go to assemble!
3. I placed the brie first & built out from there. I took the 4 slices of jalapeno havarti & stacked them (1) 2" piece then (1) 1.5" piece, then the last 2" piece, then the last 1.5" piece.
4. From there, I built up piles of cheddar to the left & right of the brie skull, then placed the mini bowls & filled them with the stuffed peppadews & stuffed olives to help hold the cheddar piles.
5. I staggered the smoked gouda triangles to create the 'rib' effect then filled in the center with folded salami.
6. I then folded more pieces of salami to fill in the top & the sides.
7. The last step was to place the grapes bunches!
