Recipes Worth Trying!
Growing up, my Dad, my sisters and I were lucky to have my mom as a homemaker who thoroughly enjoyed cooking and baking everything from scratch. I rarely spent time in the kitchen with her, as much as I love my Mom and the eating part, I was entirely too impatient to learn how to cook and bake, not to mention I was WAY more interested in sports and NOT doing such 'girly' things. (Except the time I called my Mom and asked her where every single ingredient for chocolate chip cookies was, but didn't ask where she stored the chocolate chips, so I just decided to leave them out!)
In college, while living off campus and hungry after volleyball practice with no food hall plan in place any longer, I soon realized that I needed to learn how to cook. (Making mac n cheese in the microwave without adding water and possibly starting a small fire wasn't cutting it any longer!)
And since then, I've grown to LOVE the joys of cooking (not so much the baking). I started out with Mom's recipes, of course, ventured into Grandma and Grandpa's recipe territory and eventually fell in love with Pinterest and began experimenting with all types of cuisine!
Over the years, my sister and I have enjoyed many a times in the kitchen together. Our favorite fare being heavy hors d'oeuvres, while sipping cocktails and eventually we started dabbling in the catering world. We've catered a number of events, both small and large, that fulfill our love of cooking and entertaining and we are so grateful any time we get the opportunity to work together.
The recipes I'll be sharing below are all over the place! American, Italian, Indian, Asian, many of my own creations (I rarely measure, I think that's the ticket to a fantastic meal!) and thankfully, my husband is a great guinea pig. He'll try anything and will always offer feedback (when I ask hahaha...)
Everything that I make is gluten free, I do try to cook dairy free as much as possible but cheese is my weakness. I do substitute milk for almond milk, sour cream for greek yogurt, etc. so they're partially dairy free. I try to use fresh, clean ingredients, I make all of my own spices but I don't beat myself up if we don't eat super clean every single meal. We do what we can!
I decided to create this section of the website because it's a huge part of who I am. I LOVE food...I will try absolutely anything and food to me connects people on such a positive level. Recipes are meant to be experimented with so I encourage you try some of these and please, let me know what you did to make it your own!

"A recipe has no soul. You, as the cook, must bring soul to the recipe."
